CORPORATE
The Firm’s Corporate practice encompasses the full range of legal services required by corporations and other business entities. Our practice includes representation of public and private companies in their general commercial affairs; public and private buyers and sellers in acquisition and dispositions of business; lenders and borrowers in corporate finance transactions; and issuers, underwriters and broker dealers in securities Law matters. We counsel investment advisors, including those affiliated with investment companies and those affiliated with non-investment companies institutional and individual clients; Companies in or facing financial distress; companies undertaking financial restructurings; issuers, under writers and financial institutions in regulatory transactional matters; and Federal, State and Local Government sponsored enterprises; we also offer company secretarial services including keeping of minutes of Board meetings and General meetings of companies, preparation of company resolutions, keeping of company registers and all other statutory duties performable by company secretaries under CAMA.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

ENERGY, OIL & GAS, MINNING & COMMODITIES
The Firm has a highly active energy regulatory, transaction, finance and litigation practice at the State, Federal and International levels. Matters handled by the firm embrace virtually all aspects of the natural gas, electric power and petroleum industries. Representation involves proceedings before the Federal Regulatory body, various departments of the Federal Government and State Public utility ministries, along with related appeals. We have also developed extensive experience analyzing and assisting clients in taking advantage of business opportunities involving natural gas, electricity, co-generation and Petroleum products. We provide qualitative and diverse legal services to major multinational companies in the Energy, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors in Nigeria. We are very conversant and provide services on mining lease and license acquisition, joint venture agreements etc. Our involvement extends to community engagement and host community management. Mining is a fast developing sub-sector in the Nigerian economy. We provide advisory services on the processes for obtaining relevant licenses and permits and how best to take advantage of the incentives in the sector.

IMMIGRATION
In an increasing global economy, we help companies obtain temporary employment visas and immigration visas authorizing permanent employment with Nigerian residency. We educate management about the visa system, facilitating long term career planning for key employees and establishing in house programs that ease compliance with requisite regulations. We also litigate immigration matters in administrative and Federal Court proceedings.

CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT
We also assist clients who are desirous of acquiring alternative citizenships to process applications for Citizenship by Investment for Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda etc. UK IMMIGRATION: We provide legal counsel /advice to Applicants seeking visa or entry clearance for the United Kingdom and depending on the instructions of particular clients provide guidance in completing the application and advice on requisite documents to furnish in support of application. We write written representations to the British High Commission requesting reconsideration of decision to refuse; prepare grounds of appeal on behalf of unsuccessful applicants, appear and argue appeals before Asylum Immigration Tribunals in the U.K. CANADA IMMIGRATION: We work closely with J P C S Immigration Consultants Inc, in Ontario Canada to assist interested applicants and their families obtain Canadian Status under The Canadian Immigrant Investor Program (Investor Program).

REAL ESTATE
Our real estate practice is national in scope; we handle real estate matters in virtually every state and in all major real estate markets. Regardless of the size and complexity of a matter, we are sensitive to the need for continuity in case management. The Broad range of experience of our real estate lawyers enables us to provide continuity. The lawyers in our real estate department have the ability to manage dispute resolutions, to provide creditors’ rights and bankruptcy advice and representation, to advice on regulatory issues and to identify and resolve tax questions thus saving the expense and inefficiency of engaging different legal counsel for each of a client’s separate business and legal problems.

TAX LAW
Our tax attorneys provide a broad and sophisticated range of services with particular emphasis in the area of planning designed to minimize the consequences of Federal, State and Local taxes on businesses and individuals. They also regularly handle tax controversies with the Internal Revenue Service.

ENVIRONMENTAL
The Firm has extensive involvement in environmental Law, counseling industrial and commercial clients including Oil and gas producers and Transporters, Environmental service companies, Petrochemical companies, Manufacturers, Recyclers, Real estate companies, Lenders and Investors.

LABOUR RELATIONS
We counsel both unionized and union-free-employers. Our Lawyers represent management at bargaining tables nationwide and customize strategies to attain employer objectives or to regain the bargaining initiative. We advice clients in contract administration and grievances and handle arbitrations.

LITIGATION (GENERAL)
The Firm offers a strong stand alone litigation group that also supports the firm’s other practice areas. Our Lawyers have been providing commercial, tort and other litigation services, at both the trial and appellate levels since the firm was established. The majority of our lawyers concentrate on general corporate and business litigation, handling of variety of complex cases for companies in virtually every industry. We also have a significant practice in representing corporate defendants in products liability, personal injury, toxic tort and environmental litigation and litigating electoral, criminal, constitutional and human rights matters.
